What actually is singing and who was the first person to sing?

Music is something which makes us feel happy, sometimes sad, and sometimes motivated. Once in a boring afternoon I was listening to some songs of Ed Sheeran, and suddenly a question popped into my mind which was what actually is singing and where does it actually come from and who was the first person to sing? Well these questions are really different and I thought that many people would have the same question, too. I thought I'd do a bit of research on this topic and share it with all of you. So let's get going...

If you check Wikipedia or any other dictionary you may get a very formal answer. So What actually is singing? Singing is all about giving a tune to a text. It's all about giving a rhythm to a particular vocal and there you go you have your song.

People have been singing for so long that it is almost impossible for us to know the first singer. So Who was the first person to sing a song? It is now said that the first person to record sound was Thomas Edison and Édouard-Léon Scott de Martinville was the first ever person to record a song.

According to an article published on Quora, Martinville was a french bookseller and printer. He invented the phonautograph, a sound-recording machine in which he recorded a Folk song from France named Au clair de la lune’ and became the first person to record a song. The original recording was done on April 9th, 1860. The phonautograph was not having the ability to record audio. It only recorded sound waves and displayed them. This is the reason why the original recording was not heard by anyone till 2008 when the sound waves of the phonautograph was finally converted into an audio file.
